Fine and Applied Arts Degree Exhibition Brings Student Work to the Public Eye
A public showcase featuring a FAB Talk Series session with industry professionals from the webtoon and art worlds
Art and Design Digital Arts, School of Fine and Applied Arts together with the Product, Service and Experience Design track, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, presented its 1st Degree Project Exhibition for Academic Year 2025, titled “Work After Work.” The exhibition, part of the FA418 Degree Project in Art and Design course, was held at CentralWorld — marking a significant milestone as students brought their work beyond the university campus and into a public space.
The exhibition aimed to raise awareness and understanding among entrepreneurs and the general public about the Department of Art and Design at Bangkok University, showcasing the creative work of its students. It also gave students hands-on experience managing a real-world exhibition outside the classroom — a valuable opportunity to prepare them for careers in the creative industry.
FAB Talk Series: A Platform for Knowledge Exchange with Industry Professionals
To create a well-rounded learning experience, the Department of Art and Design organized the FAB Talk Series alongside the exhibition, offering a platform for knowledge exchange among students, faculty, and experts from the art, design, and digital media industries. Held under the theme “CREATIVE SOURCE: Navigating the Way of Art and Design” and the concept “Where Dreams Meet Reality,” the series explored the intersection of imagination and real-world execution — from sourcing original ideas and creative concepts to the process of production and visual storytelling that meets the demands of the creative industry.
The talk series was divided into two sessions:
Talk Session 1 – Creative Realities, featuring speakers from LINE WEBTOON Thailand: K.Sarunkorn Photchaiyakul, Webtoon Producer, and K.Pharanphat Ngamthornnakit, Webtoon Creator, who shared firsthand experience from Thailand’s leading webtoon industry.
Talk Session 2 – Happily (N)ever After?, featuring K.Angkrit Ajchariyasophon, artist and curator, who spoke about “the value of identity” — a challenge that artists and creatives face when entering the real world.
Beyond viewing the exhibits and attending the talks, visitors also enjoyed a stamp-collecting workshop activity for a chance to win commemorative postcards and pins, with student exhibitors on hand throughout the event to guide visitors and share the inspiration behind each piece.
The exhibition reflects the potential of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts students at Bangkok University to produce quality work and step confidently into professional careers in the creative industry — reinforcing BU’s “Practical University” philosophy centered on learning through real-world experience.
