School of Accounting x Forvis Mazars in Thailand to Cultivate Professional Accountants – Achieving SDGs with AI – Xero Champion 2025

School of Accounting collaborated with Forvis Mazars (Thailand) Ltd., a, a leading global industry expert in accounting, auditing, and tax consulting with an extensive network spanning multiple countries worldwide, organized a Problem-based Learning project “Achieving SDGs with AI – Xero Champion 2025” to develop professional skills and prepare 4th-year students in the Pre-Cooperative Education course to become professional accountants. The event was held at The Banquet seminar room, Bangkok University, featuring comprehensive student development activities including knowledge sharing and experience transfer, hands-on practice using accounting software with business case studies, presentations, and recruitment to select students for cooperative education placement at the company.
The event began with a practical workshop led by company executives, who shared knowledge and experience in using Xero, a comprehensive global online accounting platform. Students practiced the complete accounting process from start to finish, including financial statement preparation using Xero. This was followed by a knowledge assessment through the Xero Champion Competition 2025 using business case studies.
The event’s highlight was the opportunity for students to present their approaches to the company based on the assigned challenge: “AI Integrated Problem-based Learning Assignment: How can we achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) using AI?” and received valuable advice from the company to apply in self-development and organizational development for future work towards the goal of sustainable growth.
The event concluded with the Global Professional Firms Career Roadshow Co Campus 2025 activity, where the company’s executive team shared experiences and techniques for preparing to become professional accountants, introduced career paths in global organizations, and conducted interviews with students, announcing those selected for cooperative education internships with opportunities to become permanent company personnel in the future.
This collaboration between the School of Accounting and Forvis Mazars (Thailand) Ltd. in designing activities to enhance Practical Professional Skills through Problem-based Learning activities integrated with course CO301: Pre-Cooperative Education allows students to gain hands-on experience with business cases, developing readiness for professional work immediately after graduation, aligning with the curriculum’s learning outcomes and meeting the demands of the job market in the digital age.
