BU International Opens Real-World Career Opportunities with Marriott International Greater China, Enhancing Skills for Hospitality and Tourism Students
Bangkok University International’s Marriott Class offers students real-world learning and paid internship opportunities with Marriott International Greater China.

The International Tourism and Service Management Program, Bangkok University International College, launched the Marriott Class: Mastering Hospitality Excellence project, the first strategic collaboration with Marriott International Greater China and 14 affiliated hotels in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Bangkok University is the only institution in Thailand honored to participate in this program.

Activities under the project include both online and on-site teaching, with executives and experts from Marriott International serving as guest lecturers for 3 core subjects:
- THI333 Food and Beverage Operations
- THI351 Front Office and Housekeeping Operations and Management
- THI391 Career Preparation
Additionally, Marriott International organized continuous Online Classes for 14 weeks, featuring managers from Room Division and Food & Beverage departments of all 14 hotels in Hong Kong, sharing real-world knowledge and work experience in the international service industry, while introducing distinctive features of various brands under Marriott International.
The class content covers skills that organizations prioritize when selecting interns and personnel, such as communication skills, teamwork, adaptability, and understanding of international standards.
A key highlight of the program is the opportunity for students to participate in interviews for paid internships at 7,000 HKD per month at Marriott hotels in Hong Kong. In the 3rd semester of 2024, over 30 students were selected for internships in various departments including Butler, Front Desk, Guest Relations, Food and Beverage, Concierge, and other departments according to students’ aptitudes.

On March 24, 2025, the program was honored by Mr. Kenneth Zhu, Senior Manager, College Relations, Greater China, who visited students at Bangkok University to gather feedback from learners and exchange ideas while providing close consultation.
In the final week of the program, students were inspired by Mr. Alex Chung, Director of Welcome, W Hong Kong, who served as a guest speaker, lecturing on labor market trends in the global hotel and tourism industry, while opening space for Q&A and casual conversations.
The Marriott Class: Mastering Hospitality Excellence project serves as a model of practical learning that integrates academic and industry sectors, helping to elevate students’ skills, knowledge, and understanding to be ready for effective work in the international service industry.
