School of Accounting Creates Professional Accountants Ready to Use Technology Through FlowAccount Competition
School of Accounting Organizes FlowAccount Software Competition: A Collaboration Between Educational Institution and Private Sector to Develop Digitally-Skilled Accountants Ready for the Professional World

In an era where digital technology plays a crucial role across all industries, the accounting profession is no exception. Manual bookkeeping and traditional ledgers have been replaced by modern accounting software and ERP systems. Modern accountants need diverse skills beyond merely understanding accounting principles—they must be able to use technology as an efficient working tool.

School of Accounting has recognized this significant transformation and adapted its teaching process to align with labor market and business sector demands. Through the “FlowAccount Software Competition” project, which represents collaboration between educational institutions and the private sector, the faculty aims to create digitally-skilled accountants ready to confidently step into the real working world.

This project is designed based on the Ecosystem concept—a learning ecosystem emphasizing integrated collaboration between educational institutions and the business sector. It’s not just about applying classroom knowledge, but creating a learning environment where students experience real tools, real experts, and real business scenarios. Through partnership with FlowAccount Co., Ltd., a leading Thai online accounting software developer, students have the opportunity to learn from experts with direct experience working with diverse business types. Students learn not only how to use the software, but also understand real business needs, common accounting problems, and appropriate solutions.

The FlowAccount Software Competition opened opportunities for 452 accounting students from multiple year levels to participate, including students from courses AC440: Digital Accounting Platform for Business, AC434: Accounting Software (152 students), and AC204: Fundamental of Accounting Principles (300 students). This allows students learning fundamentals to experience digital tools from the very beginning, helping them see a clearer overall picture of the accounting profession in the current era and inspiring them to develop skills alongside theoretical knowledge.

The FlowAccount Software Competition was designed with 2 main activity days, each with different objectives, to provide students with comprehensive and sequential learning experiences:
Day 1: Special Lecture and Online Workshop by expert speakers from FlowAccount Co., Ltd., delivering detailed knowledge and experience. The workshop section provided hands-on practice where students could actually work with the program.
Day 2: FlowAccount Software Competition, where students used the FlowAccount program to solve accounting problems. Held at the 1st Floor, Surat Osathanugrah Building, Bangkok University.

Through this activity, students developed digital accounting skills in a step-by-step manner—from understanding the program’s fundamentals, practicing independently, to applying it to solve real problems in a competitive situation. This learning process helps students use the FlowAccount program correctly according to professional accounting standards—not just knowing which buttons to press, but understanding the reasoning behind them and being able to apply it to various situations.
