BU Holds Executive Seminar at Burapha University, Drawing Lessons on Workforce Development in the EEC
Studying approaches to workforce development in support of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and building partnerships with educational institutions and the private sector in the region, for future curriculum development.
Bangkok University led a delegation of executives, deans, and school members to the Bangkok University Executive Seminar for Academic Year 2026, held at Burapha University in Chonburi Province, to study approaches to workforce development in support of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and to seek partnerships with educational institutions and private-sector organizations in the area.
The seminar was held at the BBS Banquet Hall, 5th Floor, Chalermprakiat Building, School of Business Administration, Burapha University. Its objectives were to understand the goals and direction of EEC development, learn approaches to workforce development aligned with future demand, and study the experiences and best practices of vocational colleges, universities, schools, and private-sector organizations in the region.
In the morning session, Bangkok University executives attended a lecture on “Overview of Policy for Developing High-Competency Personnel in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC)” by Dr.Apichart Thongyoo, President of the EECHDC committee.
This was followed by presentations on real-world labor demand in the EEC and the role of Burapha University’s Faculty of Engineering in workforce development, by Asst. Prof. Dr.Nayot Kurukitkoson, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Burapha University; and on strategies for curriculum development in partnership with the private sector in the EEC, by Asst. Prof. Tassaphan Suwannatat, Director of the Excellence Network Center for Mechatronics (ENMEC).
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the EEC-TIL (Tourism Innovation Lab) and the EEC-Automation Park, and heard first-hand experience on tourism workforce development in the EEC region from Assoc. Prof. Dr.Pannee Pimapansri, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Burapha University. The session concluded with a presentation on “Vocational Education Management in the EEC: Best Practices of Chonburi Technical College” by Dr.Wanna Tanprapas, Advisor to Chonburi Technical College.
The seminar was led by Asst. Prof.Dr.Lugkana Worasinchai, Vice President for Business Development Division and act for Director, Admissions Office and project head. Bangkok University aims to apply the knowledge and experience gained to curriculum development and private-sector partnerships, in order to produce graduates whose competencies align with labor-market demand in the Eastern Economic Corridor and other regions of Thailand.
