Sparked research and teaching around improving lives of incarcerated mothers. This research deepened my understanding of the complex needs of incarcerated mothers and pregnant women—particularly regarding health, dignity, and humane living conditions. Beyond generating new academic knowledge, the project sparked a series of ongoing works, including scholarly publications, real-world teaching cases in architecture studios, public exhibitions, and artistic collaborations. All of these efforts are aligned toward a shared goal: using design to improve the quality of life for one of the most vulnerable groups within the justice system.
