DIB x BU Internship Program Collaboration to Strengthen Real-World Experience and Drive New Curriculum Development in Art Management
This represents a significant step toward producing graduates who are fully equipped with professional skills, creative thinking, and international-level practical experience in a sustainable manner
Art and Design Program, School of Fine and Applied Arts, is committed to developing students’ potential to keep pace with the professional world through experiential learning. The department continuously supports co-curricular activities in collaboration with external organizations with specialized expertise.
In the academic year 2025, through academic collaboration, the Department of Arts and Design implemented a student capacity-building project in contemporary art management in partnership with Dib Bangkok. Students with high potential were selected through a structured interview and selection process to participate in internships within the organization’s working teams.
Selected students will undertake a 320-hour internship covering multiple departments, such as Curatorial, Education Program, Customer Service Coordinator, and Museum Attendant. This provides opportunities to learn real working processes in the context of a professional contemporary art organization. The program is also integrated with the course FA315 Job Training, enabling effective integration of classroom learning with real work experience.
This collaboration not only serves as an important platform for enhancing professional experience but also functions as a key mechanism for developing students’ skills in alignment with the international creative industry. This includes working with Thai and international experts, contemporary art management, and building networks within the art sector and related organizations.
Meanwhile, the long-term collaboration with Dib Bangkok represents a significant step in developing and piloting a new curriculum for the Art Management. Rooted in the concept of practice-based learning and industry collaboration, this initiative will further lead to the development of a new program, scheduled to commence in the academic year 2570, with the aim of advancing contemporary art education to keep pace with the evolving professional landscape.
